Our Story

Born From a Simple Frustration

CONTAINER2GO was founded in 2018 by Marcus Webb and Layla Torres — two construction industry veterans who were tired of watching people overpay for homes that were built to last 20 years, not 200.

After discovering the world of container architecture on a trip through the Pacific Northwest, they saw something most people missed: shipping containers aren't just storage boxes. They are Corten steel structures engineered to stack 9 units high in the middle of the ocean. They are, pound for pound, among the strongest building materials on earth.

What started as a two-person shop in Austin, Texas has grown into a full-service container fabrication company with over 35 in-house builders, electricians, and plumbers — and over 500 completed builds across 48 states. Every single unit is still built under one roof, by our own team, with no outsourcing.

We're still obsessed with the same thing we were in 2018 — building extraordinary spaces from extraordinary steel.

TWO FACILITIES. ONE STANDARD.

Our Austin, TX facility handles the majority of residential custom builds. Our Milwaukee, WI location services the Midwest and Northeast. Both facilities operate under identical quality standards, the same build process, and the same team training protocols.

Every facility is equipped with industrial welding bays, spray foam insulation chambers, full electrical and plumbing test stations, and a covered staging area for final QC before each unit ships.

Tours are available by appointment at both facilities. We love showing customers exactly how their home is being built.

We Only Use One-Trip Containers for Finished Homes
Many competitors use fully used containers to save cost. For any finished residential or commercial build, we use one-trip containers only. Your home deserves a fresh start — not someone else's wear and tear.

Spray Foam Insulation Is Standard — Not an Upgrade
We spray foam every custom build as standard. Many competitors charge extra or use fiberglass batt, which causes condensation inside steel containers. Our approach means better temperature control and no mold risk.

Every custom build order includes construction plan sets for permitting purposes at no extra charge. This alone saves customers $800–$2,000 compared to hiring an architect to produce permit drawings.
