OUR RETURN PHILOSOPHY

At CONTAINER2GO Containers, we sell two fundamentally different types of products — raw shipping containers and fully custom-built container homes. Because of the nature of these products, our return and refund terms differ between them. Please read this policy carefully before placing an order.

We are committed to resolving any issue fairly and promptly. If you have concerns about your order, always contact our team first — most issues can be resolved without a formal return process.

Two Product Categories — Two Policies
Section A covers raw shipping containers (20ft, 40ft, standard and high cube). Section B covers custom-built container homes and commercial builds. Make sure you read the section that applies to your purchase.

RAW SHIPPING CONTAINERS

Raw containers include all 20ft, 40ft, high-cube, and specialty containers sold without modification, fit-out, or customization.

Eligibility for Return

You may request a return within 7 calendar days of confirmed delivery, provided ALL of the following conditions are met:

  • The container has not been modified, cut, welded, painted, or altered in any way
  • The container remains in the same condition it was delivered in
  • The container is accessible for pickup at the original delivery address
  • You have notified us in writing within 7 days of delivery
  • A return authorization number (RAN) has been issued by our team

Non-Returnable Containers

The following container purchases are final sale and cannot be returned:

  • Containers that have been modified, welded, painted, or cut into
  • Containers purchased with custom color or branding applied
  • Containers delivered more than 7 days prior to the return request
  • Containers purchased at a discounted or clearance price
  • Any container where the customer has acknowledged and signed off on cosmetic wear (dents, rust patches) at time of purchase

Cosmetic Wear Is Not a Return Reason
Used and one-trip containers will have dents, dings, and surface rust. This is disclosed at the time of sale and does not constitute a defect. All containers are guaranteed wind and watertight unless otherwise noted.

How to Initiate a Container Return

Contact Us Within 7 Days
Email returns@container2gollc.com or call 1-517-680-1026 with your order number, delivery date, and reason for return. Include photos of the container in its current state.

Receive Your Return Authorization Number (RAN)
Our team will review your request within 2 business days and issue a RAN if eligible. Do not arrange container pickup without a valid RAN.

Schedule Pickup
We will coordinate flatbed or tilt-bed retrieval. The container must be accessible at the original delivery address. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to our error.

Refund Processing
Once the container is received and inspected at our facility, your refund (minus restocking fee and shipping) will be processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method.

CUSTOM CONTAINER HOMES & COMMERCIAL BUILDS

Custom builds include all container homes, commercial builds, workshops, offices, cafes, pools, and any product built to a customer's specifications. Due to the custom nature of these products, our return policy is significantly different from raw containers.

Custom Builds Are Non-Refundable Once Production Begins
Because every custom build is designed and fabricated specifically for each customer, we cannot accept returns once production has started. Your deposit confirms acceptance of this policy. Please review your specifications carefully before signing.

Cancellation Before Production

If you wish to cancel your custom build order before production begins:

  • Cancellation within 72 hours of contract signing: Full deposit refund minus a $250 administrative fee
  • Cancellation 4–14 days after contract signing: 50% of deposit refunded
  • Cancellation 15+ days after contract signing but before production start: 25% of deposit refunded
  • Cancellation after production start: No refund on deposit. Remaining balance is still owed for work completed.

What Counts as a Defect

We are fully committed to delivering exactly what was agreed in your signed specifications. The following are considered defects and will be remedied at our cost:

  • Structural issues not present in the agreed specifications
  • Plumbing or electrical that does not function as specified
  • HVAC system that does not reach specified capacity
  • Materials or finishes that differ significantly from what was selected
  • Dimensions that deviate more than 2% from agreed plans
  • Water leaks, non-sealing doors, or broken window seals on delivery

Remedy for Defects

For confirmed defects in custom builds, CONTAINER2GO will at its sole discretion either:

  • Dispatch a technician to repair the defect at no cost within 30 days
  • Issue a partial refund reflecting the cost of the defective component
  • Replace the defective component or system

Full refunds on custom builds are issued only in cases where CONTAINER2GO is unable to deliver a structurally sound unit within 90 days of the originally agreed delivery date.

DEPOSITS & PAYMENT REFUNDS

Raw Container Deposits

A 25% deposit is required to reserve a container. If you cancel your order before delivery is scheduled, your deposit will be refunded in full. If delivery has already been scheduled and you cancel within 48 hours of the delivery date, a $150 cancellation fee applies.

Custom Build Payment Schedule

  • 50% deposit due at contract signing — locks your production slot
  • 40% progress payment due when production begins (materials ordered)
  • 10% final payment due before delivery/pickup

All payments are non-refundable once production begins, except in cases of defect or failure to deliver as specified.

Payment Methods
We accept bank wire transfer, ACH, cashier's check, and major credit cards (2.9% processing fee applies to credit card payments). Financing is available through our lending partners — financing refunds are subject to lender terms.
